Well well well... Another Sydney trip, but this time, with a different group..

and a different mode of transport as well!
we traveled by car, a long........ 14(15?) hour drive...

pple from, the sydney trip, feel free to add comments if i cant seem to remember what we did at certain parts of teh trip k? i have selective memory so i may forget stuff sometimes, if i miss out anything lemme know so i can update this post ya?

made 3 new friends! and got to know more abt the rest too! whee...
there's anthony, the hokkien spouting poker-faced fella, and there's lim yiew with her yoga and spunkiness and quirkiness, and hiroko, quiet quiet but equally funny as well..

but, all in due time, lemme start from the beginning...

Thursday night: (Spartans!)

T'was the premier of 300 in bris!
we were supposed to meet at southbank cinames, the group of us, at 630pm.. me left house at 625, me thought meself only one late. called emu, no reply, called kuan, the fella said he on the way, (so, since i'm not the only one late, not so kanchiong), so i picked up the pace and ran ( ok la, half run half brisk walk.. if i run the whole time u see me collapse at the cinema).

reach alrd, knn!, nobody there.

ah kuan arrived 5min after me, with his entourage of girls behind him.. we called emu, he said they (him, carrie, jay) were gonna be late.. me n ah kuan and his girls queued to get our tickets 1st, then after much consideration, queued up again to get emu carrie and jay's ones as well.. emu said anthony and lim yiew were alrd at southbank and makaning now, but at that point of time i was like "o_0 who?" so me ah kuan and co just went to the fish n chips place to makan as well..

after like 15-20 min, emu n gang joined us, then makan makan some more, we decided to leave for the cinemas 45 min beforehand to queue for seats.

45 min not enuff leh! wapiang. the cinema was packed like siao. like sardines la!
but everyone queue here queue there.. there was the queue for tickets, the queue for the drinks, the queue for the toilets and the queue for the seats. me n ah kuan queued for the drinks while the other went on ahead to chope places for us in the seat queue. after much navigation, we managed to find emu and gang, and finally was truly on the way to watch the epic movie.

My take on the show?

Awesome.
Violent.
Bloody.
2. Thumbs. Up.

its not as gory or violent as Kratos in God of War 1 and 2, but it does try pretty well for a movie. to sidetrack a bit, i mentioned abt God of War 2 during the fish n chips dinner to jay and ah kuan when we were discussing what was another good depiction of ancient greece. the both of them were practically orgasming upon mention of it.

for further exaggerated comments and outbursts, ask the rest of the gang who watched the movie..

Group that watched 300; me, ah kuan, hiroko, kuan's 2 other friends (paiseh, forgot name), tim (not the vietnam fella, this 1 is another of kuan's friends), tanvi, carrie, jay, emu, anthony, lim yiew, anthony and lim yiew's gang.. and again, i'm the only non-UQ fella there. but NVM! it was a good show, and good company..

after some chatting, jay n carrie dropped me off at a 7-11 near my place so i can stock up on tidbits for the upcoming road trip.
and it was time to start packing the moment i reached home.. pack pack pack.. almost forogt abt the camera until kuan mentioned on msn. heng ah.. if i didnt being it i wouldnt have so many memories of that trip.. hurhurhur...

ok! day 2: (We march/drive)

me and tim were to meet emu jay and anthony at the avis car rental at roma street, so i lugged my baggage all the way there, met tim, and we waited for the rest to arrive.. after a bit of waiting, some chatting, the cars were ready for collection and off we went! not to sydney la, but back to carrie's place.. met the rest of the gang there, kuan and jay orgasmed again when i passed them their copied of God of War 2, and after shoving the bags into the car boot, we set off to anthony's house to collect his makan and further up to pick lim yiew up.

what ensued, was more of heng than suay i guess.. after picking lim yiew up, the car started to display problems, so both cars went aside and emu called avis.. we had to wait for the recovery vehicle to arrive, so we played uno on the grass in the meantime..

it turned out that we had to get a new car instead, so we headed off to another avis car rental place near the way to the airport and got a another one.. then finally, at 130pm, we were truly on our way to sydney!

seating arrangements for car 1; me, anthony, lim yiew, emu, tim
seating arrangements for car 2; jay, carrie, tanvi, kuan, hiroko

anthony and emu were to rotate driver duty, with me and tim rotating vehicle commander duty aka keep-driver-awake duty. tanvi and jay were the drivers for the other car i had no idea abt the veh com for them, prob carrie all the way i think.

nothing much to be said abt the car journey, except for the long hours, the boring radio music, long sleepy hours, and the frequent toilet stops and makan stops..

after a long, long drive, we arrived at out destination, yha accomodation thingy at sydney railway station, at around.... 430am. sleepy.......

the group had to be split up cos they only had a 8 man room free, so emu and anthony bunked into another room but came over frequently anyway..

arrangements for room 306,
1st double decker bed; kuan 2nd floor, hiroko 1st floor.
2nd double decker bed; tanvi 2nd floor, me 1st floor.
3rd double decker bed; tim 2nd floor, lim yiew 1st floor.
4th double decker bed; jay 2nd floor, carrie 1st floor, later for rest of whole trip stay, 1st floor jay and carrie, no one at 2nd floor (lol).

and its off to a nice rest before starting the day in sydney!

day 3: (Fish market and everything nice)

we started the day with a nice visit to the Sydney fish market! undaunted by the heavy rain and strong winds, we endured and made our way to seafood haven..

note to people, if possible, dissuade tim from any consumption of oysters and alcohol, if consumption is inevitable, avoid subject at all costs.
lol

anything else on fish market, refer to my december posts, i lazy to take the same pics..

stomach full, we took a short walk to paddy's market, again a place i went b4 so i lazy to take more pics (lol).

see the rainbow? so cowerfoo......

We had coffee upstairs (i had camomile tea! soothing....) after walking in paddy's for a while before heading home to change for dinner..

i look like i'm hanging from tim's shoulder, or dislocated mine.. and some1's in a really awkward half-squat position haha!

and now, some pics of every1 before dinner... what a great looking bunch of us. =)

stupid red eye thingy, i need to get rid of that 1 day

makan makan time!
we went to a food court at chinatown, me anthony n tim ate zi char! mmmmmm...... lemon chicken, tofu n vege, mongolian beef n onions, and this pork rib thingy with black bean like the ones eaten at dimsum.. with rice and soup, the dinner only costed the 3 of us 10 bucks each. nice.........

oh well, here's the rest with their food..

the meal came with a free flow or rice and soup, so my and anthony shared another bowl of rice, whereas tim wanted another bowl for himself. after 2 mouthfuls, the fella was alrd full, and proceeded to dump rice all over jay's, carrie's and lim yiew's empty bowls to divert the cleaner's wrath of not finishing food.
hurhurhur...

sorry ah, by the time the rest got back with their food, we were too busy eating to take foto..

burp.

after an extremely filling dinner, we decided to head to darling harbour.
along the way, we passed by some fountains and the monkeys decided to pose for some pics..

see the pwetty pwetty lights behind us? and no rain to ruin the night!

all drenched from the darn rain again

and finally! we reached a club which let us all in.. carrie didnt have her id with her, so lim yiew lent her her driver's license while using her passport for herself and altho maybe can smoke the bouncer, he didnt check at all, so he let us all in. whee!
the loud music and flashing lights were kinda overwhelming at first, but a beer sponsored by anthony dulled my senses a lil so it wasnt that bad..
caution, photos of questionable nature ahead, feel free to laugh/cry at the wonders of human mind and body coordination.

tim was doing the monkey walk thingy behind a trance-like anthony but only succeeded in looking like a masturbating drunk behind the fella

all together now, awwwww....................

after a rowdy night, we headed back to our bunk.. and apparently some of us were still hyper..

but soon enough, we succumbed to Sandman's call and headed off to lala land..

day 4: (Dim sum, Blackjack and Homecooked food)

awoke to a hungry stomach. fortunately, lim yiew bought fruits the day b4 and offered me a pear. nice, until jay came along and commented on the pear shape. then it didnt look that nice, but i alrd finished mine so heck..
we had a nice dim sum brunch at chinatown, thx to emu and his cuzzie for finding the place for us.. the lunch was simply awesome.. the food was scrumptious, and the company was hilarious. all thanks to anthony on my right and kuan on my left, not to mention jay across the table, i was able to laugh till i teared.

after lunch, we walked our full stomachs off by wandering around the city..

shortly, the group split up, tim met up with his friend, and the girls went shopping.. the guys headed off to walk a bit more before deciding to stop at a macs nearby for coffee and some gambling.. game was blackjack, and the stakes were 10 cents a piece.. we were there pretty long, and we had a total of 60 games, at the very end, me and kuan got 1 dollar in winnings each, and jay lost the most at 2.40.. thats alright, we didnt pay each other for the game at all after that..

we kinda had enough of outside food, so kuan suggested that we cook dinner ourselves that night. fair enuff, so we headed to paddy's (1st so that i can get the jap wooden doll for G, but the whole place was closed so we headed directly to buy the food). the girls went off to shop again, and the guys went straight to the supermarket to get the groceries. we bought codfish steaks, chicken drumsticks, mushroom sauce, scallop sauce, cabbage, carrots, cauliflowers, mushrooms, onions and garlic for our planned feast.

we (the guys) headed home 1st so we'd be able to whip up the meal in time when the girls get back, and went to the kitchen after we changed to more comfy clothes.. emu and anthony had a concussion and napped for while before coming down but that's alright, we were almost done by then.. kuan was marinating his chickens while me jay and tim were slicing and dicing up the veges.. i did the fish, tim and jay did the vege dish.. we managed to find salt for the fish, it was one of the most impt preparation ingredients for the fish and we forgot abt it.. doh.
anyway, after a nice massage of salt and water, the fish was ready for cooking.. butter, garlic and onions went in first, simmered to a nice golden brown before the fish steaks joined in.. a lil flip here, a lil flip there, and the fish was ready in no time..

kuan has the fotos of the dinner! argh...... note to self, need to update this section after i get them.

the group had a talk cock session for a while after dinner at the common room until some others were staring at us for being too loud, so we headed back to the bunks. some mad version of dodgeball/monkeyball/dragonball ensued, with mostly tanvi, tim, emu, anthony and jay tumbling about the floor with a ball flying about..

my poor bed was desecrated and messed up so many times i gave up on tidying it till the whole thing finished, which by then was another talk cock session involving a continue-the-story game, somewhere along the lines of a fella called Mach and a gal called Gillette and poor Anthony who got dragged into it. oh well, no reason to ignore him now that he's in the story, and my contributions did crack up the crowd rather well i suppose, with the defective sperm reincarnation and all that. lol

we still had the energy to take the cars out to the sydney harbour bridge and opera house for photos, and though it was at a different place compared to the last time i was here, the location for the photos was still nice and we took some really really good pictures..

here you go!

kuan wanted me to follow suit, but i simply couldn't help but spoil the picture by doing this instead.

we were dead tired after we got back, so tired until me and kuan forogt to bring our towels to the showers and we had to wait for jay to go back and get them for us before we could get out.. and by the time we got back, almost everyone had knocked out by then..

*Ahem*operationairstrike*Ahem*

day 5: (No time! No time!)

as emu said, the last days are always the busiest days. we got up and headed for a quick monorail tour, followed by lunch at a foodcourt.

me and anthony had nandos, steak burgers of course, and terribly nice to eat of course, but still messy and troublesome to eat of course.
after every1 bought some makan to dapao for the trip back to bris, we went for more sightseeing(guys + tanvi) and shopping(girls + jay) before we left sydney..

indeed.

we found our way to this park where this magnificent fountain sculpture was situated.

Thesues and the Minotaur

Orpheus and his lyre

next stop was bondi beach!

tsk, so sweet loh, cannot stand. everybody together now, awww..........

after that, we had coffee (camomile tea for me again) and dessert at a cafe nearby, before finally heading off on out car trip back to brisbane.. whee....
long, sleepy, energy-draining car ride..

Last day: (Bryon Bay)

The last stop before home was byron bay, where we could all take more nice nice pictures before saying our goodbyes...

oi.... guys, look here......

last group pic of the wonderful girls who accompanied us undeserving guys on the trip

And our last group photos for the trip...

and then, finally, we were truly on our way home.. that was the last i saw of the other car, they dropped everyone off too before going back to jay's house. for us, we dropped tim off first, then they dropped me off at unilodge..
AND i FORGOT to take the present for G. kns... had to call them to ask them to hold on for me till the foto exchange day. ah well, 1 more reason to look forward to the foto exchange day anyway =)

the trip ended so quick! noooooo.....................
