Hello Hello pple!!

We had a rather fun potluck yesterday at emu/s place, one that had been procrastinated since the end of the sydney trip haha...

We had so much food!

Me brought black pepper chicken pasta. guys, really glad u all enjoyed it, but sorry for adding a tad too much black pepper seeds. kekeke.
Anthony brought ku lu yok, sweet and sour pork! wheee! it tasted just like the ones in sg.. damn shiok.
Kuan and Hiroko brought their 15-egg omelettte, which was full of stuff and the tabasco sauce gave it a realy oomph. Well done guys.
Lim yiew made gnocchi, in a tomato-based sauce. It turned out to be better than my attempt last semester, and made me believe once again that gnocchi is edible.. hahaha..
Jason, glenn, ronny and jianxin brought fried rice and roast chicken, though i was too full to eat the chicken by the time it was done, the fried rice was really good.. i had 3 helpings! lol
Tanvi did a spaghetti dish, tomato based too.. Paul newman sauce never goes wrong..
And last but not least, Emu made roasted pork ribs and mussels!!!! mussels in white wine sauce!!!! SHIOK!

eh. pple. eat la! everybody so hungry and no one start.

after a rather long dinner, the guys suggested playing 7-up. but in order for us to play such a game, a cocktail was in need. so emu and i made the cocktail! Absolut vodka, Absolute peach and lychee liquer. and lychees too! not that sweet, but defenitely gave a real kick. ok, we're all set to play!

After a grueling game of 7-up ( we counted till 240 plus) and this jap game hiroko and aimei ( i spell correct?) taught us, alomst everyone had by then at a few shots of the cocktail..

Anthony had the honour of drinking the most during the potluck. Wonderful.

And then we all took a break, helped emu clean up and waited for him to bring his laptop down for us to exchange fotos of the sydney trip (main reason of this potluck).

their faces are really much, much redder than what u see. behold the lobsters.

2 guys posing for the cam, and limyiew posing in the background too, hahaha!

ok clearly i interrupted a tender, intimate moment.

hurhurhur

Dear friends, thank you for enjoying the video clip i made, all that editing was justified and worth it after hearing u all laugh.. *bows*
hahaha and the videos kuan took were fricking funny too...

so after emu and james fetch everyone home, i was in the 2nd batch of pple that emu fetched.. the moment i got home, i plugged in my hard drive, EMU FORGOT TO PUT EVERYONE ELSE'S PICTURES INTO MINE.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

After a long week, my mid sems are done....
damn econs....

made me wake up so on thursday summore...
then kena stomachache at the bus queue. walaueh.
then kena again while waiting outside lecture room. walaueh.

all that waiting and cramming for a 44 question mcq paper.

ah well, yesterday was the 1st day i ever ended a thursday early. yay!
for once, prof john dobson did something to make me happy. cos of anzac day, the labs on wed were cancelled, cancelling the labs on thurs too for the 2nd group of students.. whee! and i got 9/10 for my 1st physics lab report even though i didnt know what the hell i was doing.

but we handed that report in on week 4.

its alrd week 8, going week 9.

wth? we want to know our marks for the past few reports! how do we know how to improve for future reports if u dun mark and give them back to us... waliew.

anyway. after i got home at 2, finally appeased the stomachache by giving the toilet a well-deserved visit.

details of brown disgusting stuff evacuated from a certain cervice will not be described.

anyway, i planned to go groceries later in the day so i wouldnt have to buy them on fri or sat. then also meeting limyiew to have my hard drive returned summore.. so might as well drop by woolies... collected my mail from sarah at the reception when i went down, THANKS G for the watch!!!!! =D \(^_^)/

so after collecting the mail, and my hard drive from limyiew (thx for 'the castle', tho i havent had a chance to watch it yet hurhur) i headed to woolies, and was somehow not surprised by the long long queue i saw at the cashiers.

ah well.. so i went down the lanes.. putting stuff into the basket..
and went to look for brocolli for the pasta. left 1. 1 half of a stem.
SHIT.
nvm, went to other lanes. got stuff, looked for salad cream for potato salad. dun have.
SHIT.
bo pian, will have to go to coles the next day..
after paying, realised i forgot to buy the aluminium trays and pasta.
SHIT.

sigh... thats why i went to coles today. and got all that there.
i should have gone to coles yest instead of woolies!!!! ARGH.....

anyway, meeting kuan later in city for dinner... he say want to go gaya.. k loh, havent gone there in a long time too anyway..
G's going for her theatre friends party tonight too..
G's getting really frustrated back in sg.. her situation's not doing well.. with work and monetary stuff... things are almost spiraling out of her control and she's having trouble keeping tabs on everything.. sigh.. i really wish i could help her... i'd rather be the buffer that takes all the shit she gets right now so she needn't kena..

sigh..

yay.

1 paper finished today...
and 1 more on thurs.... T_T

today was politics and policy making..... urgh.

went to sch early today.... to do reading and revising, met up with mark in the library. both of us attempted to read but all we got was gibberidoo. nothing was registering, well, maybe a little at most... read until want to sleep.
so we headed to the cafe for a coffee before the paper started... dang. wished i set my alarm a little later if i knew i'd be wasting my time at sch that early.

speaking of which.
thanks to someone sending me random msges in the wee hours of the morning, i had a dream right after that, even if it were but half an hour b4 my alarm went off.
weird dream tho.

o_0

oh, and talking abt msges, i received a rather peculiar msg on my phone yest evening while i was doing my physics report.

Anon: Hey is this jadom? its mel. i know u hav a lot on, but i thought bren was doing fine. i spent the day with him and hes pretty bad. hes really not doing well. im just worried about him, he might wanna talk if u wanna call him, thanks.

well sheesh. who's mel? who's bren? and who's jadom?

she did say thanks, so i replied...

me: Mel, i think you got a wrong number. this is not jadom. but all the best to bren all the same.

well, at least i could wish the fella well since he'e apparantly not doing well..

soon after, i received this.

mel: hey who is this?
me: this is kenneth, i dun have u listed in my phone, so i dun think i'm listed in yours as well. maybe u typed a wrong number somewhere.
mel: thanks. cheers.

well, that was weird huh.
o_0

oh! exam.

right.

where was i?

oh, ya.
when we got to the exam venue, everyone had to be seated by 2.
there was perusal time, 10 min, for a 40min paper.
which consisted of 4 short answer questions and an essay.
WTF?
i know i read the format of the paper beforehand but still.. WTF?!

i never wrote so fast in my life before. i sped my hand all over the exam paper.. seriously. my hand cramped after answering all the short ans questions. and i still had the essay to go.
sigh...
pia.
pia.

only finished when time was up
heng ah.....

i never wrote so much crap in such short time before... but should be ok la.

now left econs on thurs and the damn health n hygiene essay report...
ah well...

Anthony.

u good.

u good.

i know u apologised alrd, but i still want to scold u.

u good.

WONDERFUL.

for those who havent heard, anthony msged a few of us this morning 830.
lunch cancelled, sorry.
by lunch, he meant the kfc porridge he was supposed to cook for a bunch of us. by cancell, he meant, he needed to rest. cos anthony and emu just got back from mahjong at that time.... mahjong that they started played from 1am... aiya.... if u guys didnt plan to cook the lunch while playing halfway, just sms str8 away..... i set my alarm at 9am cos u told me to go to city and get the kfc to go ur place at 11plus to prepare, thats why i called u at 9am to ask why u cancel....

ah well.

nvm la, the gang will be meeting next saturday at emu's place for the potluck. tanvi, u alrd know ah, so dun say nobody tell u..

anyway, since i'm up at 9, i figured, why not continue with my assignments. by that i meant the 1000 essay report for Occ & Env Health n Hygiene course. due week 9 monday. and judging that i have a midsem test tmr and on thurs, that leaves me only half of today, half of wed, and fri sat sun to do it. well, since i needed more material for the course online at the school website, i went to take a look.

what did i see?

i see flashes of rage and lightning.

dear physics lecturer has decided to put up an announcement. there needs to be a report done for the lab last thursday, deadline for submission is this coming friday.

now. normally, he'd tell us at least a week in advance, if not 1 and a half or 2. but nooooo. 5 days. within which most of the faculties have their midsemester papers.

as if the world revolved around physics.
the world revolves, yes, thanks to physics, but we do not really have to prioritise it over everything rite?! engineering pple, quiet.

so. if i stuck with my original plan, i had to submit the physics report on fri. that means doing it on wed, since my thurs are spent all day in school. doing it on wed means i cant leave half a day for studying thurs' paper. which means i have to do it earlier. i cant do it on tues cos i'll be in sch for the afternoon, and i cant do it on monday after my paper cos i need to research before tuesday's group meeting.

SO.

i have to die die finish by today.
on the day i read the announcement.

CB LA.

pia.
pia.
pia.
pia.

pia until 7... bo pian, stomach hungry. nothing fancy to cook, and since i had to finish up the chicken patties before they expire after tmr, might as well. since someone wasnt free for groceries, (not that the particular person was ever that free these days anyway, but aiya, exam week, guess its alright la..) i was lucky to have a small slab of ham and some kabana sauceages to last me till fri.

plan nice nice alrd.

and on sat morn, when i buy the stuff to cook for the potluck, i buy my own groceries too.

so. after a quick dinner of aglio olio, back to physics.
and. i finished at 8 just now.

after watching some tv...

i guess i should be heading back to revising tmr's paper.

sigh

Saturday, April 21, 2007

Dear readers, i just got back from a late night in the city with the usual gang this time. A rather eventful evening again i can say...
it all started with dinner at elizabeth arcade..
oh. wait.

it started earlier..
around.... 630ish?

met tanvi, james and emu at the city casino, we were originally to meet at the hungry jacks but i guess some1 felt a little lucky so they went there 1st.. oh well, finally met james after SO SO long... bruhder.... why u always not free... aiyoh.. next week u must turn up for the potluck ah...
anyway, we were waiting for tim, kuan and hiroko to go for dinner.. tim arrived soon but kuan and hiroko were late so we went off to search for a place to makan first.. well, we ended up at elizabeth arcade at had dinner at this korean place opposite kadoya, and since i forgot the name of the place, then nvm. lol
anyway, we had a feast i tell u... mu, james, emu and tim.
1 bulgogi (spelling correct?), 1 spicy bulgogi, 1 huge plate of bbq pork slices, and a bowl of udon seafood soup. and rice.

full............

we definitely needed a walk after that.. and so we did. we were looking for a place to have coffee, and i was supposed to call anthony. oh. backtrack a bit (again...). anthony, lim yiew (i feeling kinda lazy to type the space in her name. lets just keep it as lim.), and a few of their friends were having dinner at this mexican place at west end, and me and anthony were planned to call each other after dinner so we could all hang out together.. so the gorblok suggested 3 monkeys, which was so far for us. so, instead, i suggested a much closer place.

unilodge lobby cafe.
convenient rite!
and i can jiffy up to get my cards and bring them down too.

so we walked........... back to unilodge from the casino (where we met up with the other group). anthony was visibly a little high from some alcohol he drank.. it was really very amusing to just stare at him and watch him talk to every1. was lim high? i didnt really notice, was more absorbed at watching anthony talk some nonsense in everything he said.. haha!

and then we reach unilodge. did i say that just now? i think i did.
anyway......
i told the group to get seats 1st while i went up to get the cards..
the moment i reached home, emu called..

how the hell does a cafe run out of coffee? o_0

so bo pian loh.. go somewhere else...

but there was coffee club just around the corner so woohoo...
so, after ordering the drinks, we got down to business. bluff.
hmm, who played... me, kuan, hiroko, lim, anthony, tim.
anthony anthony anthony..... u never knew how i saw through your bluffs didnt u?
heh heh heh... kuan, u know so shhhh...... lim and hiroko, i'll tell u gals another time... if this keeps up at the correct patterns, it'll be a blast playing bluff with anthony..

mua
ha
ha
ha.

after a long game of bluff, we decided to play blackjack instead... since the stalemates lasted so long.. i go toilet come back still havent finished... btw, the toilet at coffee club blinds your eyes. literally. the whole toilet was bathed in ultraviolet light. every bulb. i stood at the entrance for half a minute before i could see properly...

anyway, i digress.

back to blackjack...
i am indeed in a lucky streak today. 12 games and i get 20 and 21s for 8 games in total. woot!

mua
ha
ha
ha
ha.

but, i still stand by my ideals.. i wont gamble in casinos...

well, it seems that i do recognize a fella in the other group.. he was in 46 around the same time i was there, no wonder he looked kinda familiar...

then after the blackjack, we all talked cock until the waitress passed us the bill. 1130 alrd? gee.....

so as they all walked to the bus stop to catch the last buses home.. i took a casual stroll 2 streets down back to home.

mua
ha
ha
ha
ha.

tmr mr maxpert tan cooking lunch for us all! see u guys tmr! or rather, in 12 hours time.

Tonight was rather eventful i must say.
A nice dinner, a great gossip session with a buddy, and a nice comfy shit in the toilet bowl.

first off, i met kuan when he was finished shopping with his housemates at chinatown.. met him at the hungry jacks at myer and brought the fella back to my place, stopping by formosa along the way to get some stuff... anyway, the fella wanted to chill at my place, so i might as well cook him dinner too, let him try some of my new concotions..

i think i may be cooking black pepper chicken pasta for the potluck next week, so i have been trying to improvise on the dish.. and apparantly he like it too! great! so its not just me being biased.. kekeke.

and on that note, i think i shall indeed make that dish for the potluck, and maybe throw in some other stuff to make it nicer too..

oh. and what a gossip session we had after dinner. if its anything else that the army taught me, well, besides how to drive and kill people and hurl many many wonderful vulgarities in many languages, was to bitch.
yes, u heard rite, bitch.
ah, i can almost hear the old gossips in my ears.. the best gossip and bitching days in army was when i got my desk job as a detail clerk. ok, i can see the girls yawning and rolling their eyes at another guy army talk, but i'll just get it over with asap.
due to the frustration i get at work doing all the planning, i was indeed fortunate and lucky to have my understudy, terence, around. the 2 of us, and another guy, daniel, not u lover dan, someone else. anyway, the 3 of us would just gather at 2 desk after we're done with our work and just bitch and bitch and gossip abt ppl we know, and cos the office is only for restricted personnel, we pretty much bitched a lot.
anyway, so thats where i learnt how to gossip and boy, did me and kuan have loads of it. kekeke.
but, its not fair to hear things from just 1 point of view, so to be fair... its only right that i hear the other sides of the stories i've heard. so, dear readers, my gossip quest, is not over.

ha!

Yes, i overdosed on grapes again.
and i finished the whole bunch alrd.

this is bad.

what am i going to overdose on for the next few days till groceries?

anyway, yours truly had nandos for dinner.. i was supa tired from school today, i slept on the bus journey there, i slept on the journey back...
interestingly enough though, i managed to keep awake during lecture today. that seldom happens on a tiring day.

oh, abt the lecture. blah blah blah, then he mentioned a case study of an incident some time ago about abestos and accidents, and he showed the class a slide of the sydney harbour bridge cos that incident happened there. and i actually walked past the monuments lat week!

weird huh?

and when i mentioned that to amir next to me, he said he saw it too. last week.
turns out that he was in sydney at the same time as me.. what are the odds of that.

anyway, i started watching The King of Queens. its darn funny...

Recommended to everyone!

Yes Donna Burke, i really could do with A Quiet Night now...

I have proven Murphy's Laws to be true once again today.

Yes, it is time to RANT.

again.

1. 3 days ago, i pia-ed my physics report so i can hand in early.
2. Deadline was monday 10am, but my only lecture that day is at 2pm.
3. Kenneth hates to wait more than 2 hours for a lesson to start, let alone 4 hours.
4. Kenneth thinks, oh, why not i hand in on sunday afternoon before i go groceries.
5. Kenneth waits till sunday to hand it up.
6. Bus timetable states online that the half hourly buses still run on weekends.
7. Bus timetable at bus stop states that only hourly buses run on weekends.
8. Kenneth waits for 1pm bus at 12.20
9. Kenneth reaches school, rushes to physics office building to hand up report.
10. Remembers that lecturer wants report handed in at his office, instead of the official assignment submission box in front of library.
11. Library is open weekends.
12. Physics office building is not.
13. Kenneth screams at the heavens and walks back to bus stop.
14. 1.35 bus leaves in front of Kenneth's eyes.
15. Next bus is at 230. Kenneth has a choice of whether to wait for that one under the sun or take the 140 one which takes twice as long to reach city.
16. Kenneth opts for aircon.
17. Bus journey is long, tiring, and driver drives like shit. Car sickness.
18. Kenneth reaches city, buys lunch, walks home, remembers about groceries as he steps into unilodge lift.

WTF MAN!

oh ya, i managed to crop by the new pharmacy at festival towers on the way home. bought a long-overdue-and-much-needed first aid paper tape for fingers.

whats happening to me man.. i have like pains in the most inconvenient places.
BlueBlack on left hip (due to enthusiastic slamming of door handle into hip, thanks to YHA railway backpackers room 306 door), a stiff jaw that cracks like a knuckle every now and then, 3 slightly sprained finger joints, and a damn annoying left kneecap that shoots needles up occasionally from pressure.

I need sayang. =(

and G's back in sg...

so, next best thing,

KUAN.
u owe me anyway.
come over here and comfort me.
or i shall kidnap u and make u sayang me.

Hey everybody!

I just got back from a mini-gathering, with a group of the best peeps i've ever known so far... hurhur.. =D

although it was rather impromptu... we still managed to gather a fair bit of pple, so thats not so bad aye?

first off, me met up with emu! walked to cultural centre to meet him.
oh, rewind a bit ah, i was supposed to bring a cd for ah kuan. just when i walked out of unilodge, i realised i didnt being it. nvm. went back up, came back down. realised i didnt bring a plastic bag to put it in. sian la! found a pocket to shove it in, and proceeded to walk to the cultural centre with a cd case jabbing my stomach side.
Note, this jabbing session lasted through dinner, until he met up with us at 3 monkeys.

but, back to topic... by the time i crossed the bridge, the realisation that i may have worn the wrong shirt out dawned upon me, but mainly due to the perspiration on my forehead that would normally wouldnt appear during an approaching winter. well, too late rite? bo pian loh.. anyway, i also realised that by then, mr anthony "maxpert" tan had given me 2 missed calls. he and lim yiew had alrd reached the dinner place, and since me and emu were going to be late, proceeded to talk kok ala anthony style.

to sidetrack a bit again ah.... anthony is sorta like a hokkien/dialect dictionary... if u've thought about something and before u open ur mouth to say it, chances are, he's alrd said it out in hokkien. si beh ho chio...

anyhoo..... we met up outside a nandos at west end area, then jay and carrie caught up soon after... after some pickign and choosing.... we ended up at this chinese/vietnamese place, which had quite good food actually..

here's a photo shot of the food taken by mr maxpert tan...

Looks great huh? we had....
mongolian beef,
fried tofu, (the batter was really good)
chicken with black bean,
sweet n sour porku,
luohan vege thingy

and what a feast we had... 3 buckets of rice. full!
really full......
the walk to 3 monkeys was really helpful for digestion...
oh, and miss lim yiew had beef pho (phor? phur? pho.) it looked better than the one at AJ tho. hmmm.

once we reached 3 monkeys, we saw a small table, but it had really confy looking chairs... so we settled for it at first sight.. while emu and jay busied themselves with a game or two of chess, i stoned for a while until kuan and hiroko arrived..
and then we had to shift to a beeger table, which wasnt that bad, cos it was outside and the whether was just fine... not too warm, not too chilli..

with a pack of cards and 8 semi-bored pple, what else? blackjack!

well, for 2 rounds actually. we played bluff after that.. which ended up longer than another chess game played by emu and jay cos it ended up as a stalemate btwn anthony and carrie...

oh, carrie and tanvi went for their skydiving today! congrats to them both for conquering the skies! =D

anyway, i seem to be sidetracking a lot for this entry.. could be the coffee.. the delayed effect is kicking in. later tonight cannot slp... and i have to wake up to go to sch tmr to hand in the 5+oop1d physics assignment...

OK OK no more sidetracking!

here are the pics taken of the gathering at 3 monkeys! =)

and here's an attempt at trying to fix emu's face...

hurhur

ok, i shall end off here... cant wait for the real potluck on the 22nd for u guys! whee!

hello pple.

welcome to another episode of what ken cooked for dinner after some thought and improvisation.

for starters, ken chopped up some chicken thigh fillets last night and decided to marinate them in preparation for dinner today. since he has now an abundance of marinades to choose from thanks to past visits to the grocery stores, he decided to use:

1. Dark soya sauce
2. Oyster sauce
3. Hoisin sauce
4. Sesame oil
5. Garlic powder
6. Chicken seasoning powder
7. Tomato ketchup

a lil bit of this, a lil bit of that, stir stir mix mix, ken's marinade number 102389492392392 was ready.

so, the intended dish for tonight was to be semi-teppanyaki style, with the forementioned chicken and some cabbage.
however, ken was feeling too lazy to cook rice for dinner, so his mind thought, why cant i have a simple dinner like yesterday.
But, ken didnt have the luxury of any marinated meats to cook with yesterday, thats why he ended up finishing his supply of bratwurst sauceages to compliment his Aglio Olio dish.
So, just like 2574869354 + 5479816432 = 8054685786, ken decided to use the chicken, with some easy to cook spaghetti.
And, there u have it.
A generous amount of black pepper while frying the chicken, some basil, parsley, and finally, the spaghetti,
And u get this.

May not look that nice due to the lighting, this is an unavoidable error that cannot be rectified, but who cares.

Eat after a day of trying to finish up a physics labratory report, and the madness temporarily fades away.

but now its back and thats why u're here for another episode of what ken cooked for dinner after some thought and improvisation.

time flies!!! argh......!
and i was still in sydney 2 days ago! wth?!
why why why?

sigh... now its back to studying and assignments..
ah well..

went groceries this aft, found a blue plastic bag hanging from the doorknob outside..
i was like o_0
neighbour play prank ah? so i went back in and opened it, waseh! some1 made dessert for me... there was a post-it note..
Zan (ah bu) from 14th floor made dessert and passed some to me.. wa.....

so i called her to thank her loh.. apparantly she came up at around 6pm yesterday, but no one answered the door so she left it there with a note...

whoops.

yours truly was having a concussion from 4pm that day, after doing all the laundry accumulated from the trip.. i was woken up at 9pm, cos my folks called.. sheesh. if they didnt call, i would have slept till late morning. funny story though, my morning was interrupted as well thanks to the reception below calling my room phone at 830am.. walau....

anyway, after a late late dinner yesterday, i proceeded to resize all the photos for the blog and loaded up some videos on youtube.. i think i blogged till quite late last night.. after a chat with G, i knocked out again...

so, back to today. i went to buy groceries.. came back and decided to cook stirfry for dinner, only to realise i havent marinated the meat i just bought so i can only cook that for tmr dinner...

solution?

Aglio Olio!

easy to cook, and yummy too...

chatted with kuan, emu and lim yiew today for a while, watched the shows i downloaded over the past days as well.. before hitting the books once again...

anyway, i have to rant again, paiseh for those who dunno what i'll be talking about.

24 Day 6 episode 17. once again, Jack Bauer has demonstrated that despite being tortured in a chinese prison, 2-3 broken ribs and the lack of sleep for 17 hours so far, he is still 1 mean muthafricking killing machine. taking out 5 pple within 5 minutes with fatal shots to each, proceeds to a fisticuffs fight with a terrorist leader, gets kicked in ribs again, and still manage to hang the fella to death with a chain. sheesh.

1 man army.

anyway, back to study! until next time dear readers...

Well well well... Another Sydney trip, but this time, with a different group..

and a different mode of transport as well!
we traveled by car, a long........ 14(15?) hour drive...

pple from, the sydney trip, feel free to add comments if i cant seem to remember what we did at certain parts of teh trip k? i have selective memory so i may forget stuff sometimes, if i miss out anything lemme know so i can update this post ya?

made 3 new friends! and got to know more abt the rest too! whee...
there's anthony, the hokkien spouting poker-faced fella, and there's lim yiew with her yoga and spunkiness and quirkiness, and hiroko, quiet quiet but equally funny as well..

but, all in due time, lemme start from the beginning...

Thursday night: (Spartans!)

T'was the premier of 300 in bris!
we were supposed to meet at southbank cinames, the group of us, at 630pm.. me left house at 625, me thought meself only one late. called emu, no reply, called kuan, the fella said he on the way, (so, since i'm not the only one late, not so kanchiong), so i picked up the pace and ran ( ok la, half run half brisk walk.. if i run the whole time u see me collapse at the cinema).

reach alrd, knn!, nobody there.

ah kuan arrived 5min after me, with his entourage of girls behind him.. we called emu, he said they (him, carrie, jay) were gonna be late.. me n ah kuan and his girls queued to get our tickets 1st, then after much consideration, queued up again to get emu carrie and jay's ones as well.. emu said anthony and lim yiew were alrd at southbank and makaning now, but at that point of time i was like "o_0 who?" so me ah kuan and co just went to the fish n chips place to makan as well..

after like 15-20 min, emu n gang joined us, then makan makan some more, we decided to leave for the cinemas 45 min beforehand to queue for seats.

45 min not enuff leh! wapiang. the cinema was packed like siao. like sardines la!
but everyone queue here queue there.. there was the queue for tickets, the queue for the drinks, the queue for the toilets and the queue for the seats. me n ah kuan queued for the drinks while the other went on ahead to chope places for us in the seat queue. after much navigation, we managed to find emu and gang, and finally was truly on the way to watch the epic movie.

My take on the show?

Awesome.
Violent.
Bloody.
2. Thumbs. Up.

its not as gory or violent as Kratos in God of War 1 and 2, but it does try pretty well for a movie. to sidetrack a bit, i mentioned abt God of War 2 during the fish n chips dinner to jay and ah kuan when we were discussing what was another good depiction of ancient greece. the both of them were practically orgasming upon mention of it.

for further exaggerated comments and outbursts, ask the rest of the gang who watched the movie..

Group that watched 300; me, ah kuan, hiroko, kuan's 2 other friends (paiseh, forgot name), tim (not the vietnam fella, this 1 is another of kuan's friends), tanvi, carrie, jay, emu, anthony, lim yiew, anthony and lim yiew's gang.. and again, i'm the only non-UQ fella there. but NVM! it was a good show, and good company..

after some chatting, jay n carrie dropped me off at a 7-11 near my place so i can stock up on tidbits for the upcoming road trip.
and it was time to start packing the moment i reached home.. pack pack pack.. almost forogt abt the camera until kuan mentioned on msn. heng ah.. if i didnt being it i wouldnt have so many memories of that trip.. hurhurhur...

ok! day 2: (We march/drive)

me and tim were to meet emu jay and anthony at the avis car rental at roma street, so i lugged my baggage all the way there, met tim, and we waited for the rest to arrive.. after a bit of waiting, some chatting, the cars were ready for collection and off we went! not to sydney la, but back to carrie's place.. met the rest of the gang there, kuan and jay orgasmed again when i passed them their copied of God of War 2, and after shoving the bags into the car boot, we set off to anthony's house to collect his makan and further up to pick lim yiew up.

what ensued, was more of heng than suay i guess.. after picking lim yiew up, the car started to display problems, so both cars went aside and emu called avis.. we had to wait for the recovery vehicle to arrive, so we played uno on the grass in the meantime..

it turned out that we had to get a new car instead, so we headed off to another avis car rental place near the way to the airport and got a another one.. then finally, at 130pm, we were truly on our way to sydney!

seating arrangements for car 1; me, anthony, lim yiew, emu, tim
seating arrangements for car 2; jay, carrie, tanvi, kuan, hiroko

anthony and emu were to rotate driver duty, with me and tim rotating vehicle commander duty aka keep-driver-awake duty. tanvi and jay were the drivers for the other car i had no idea abt the veh com for them, prob carrie all the way i think.

nothing much to be said abt the car journey, except for the long hours, the boring radio music, long sleepy hours, and the frequent toilet stops and makan stops..

after a long, long drive, we arrived at out destination, yha accomodation thingy at sydney railway station, at around.... 430am. sleepy.......

the group had to be split up cos they only had a 8 man room free, so emu and anthony bunked into another room but came over frequently anyway..

arrangements for room 306,
1st double decker bed; kuan 2nd floor, hiroko 1st floor.
2nd double decker bed; tanvi 2nd floor, me 1st floor.
3rd double decker bed; tim 2nd floor, lim yiew 1st floor.
4th double decker bed; jay 2nd floor, carrie 1st floor, later for rest of whole trip stay, 1st floor jay and carrie, no one at 2nd floor (lol).

and its off to a nice rest before starting the day in sydney!

day 3: (Fish market and everything nice)

we started the day with a nice visit to the Sydney fish market! undaunted by the heavy rain and strong winds, we endured and made our way to seafood haven..

note to people, if possible, dissuade tim from any consumption of oysters and alcohol, if consumption is inevitable, avoid subject at all costs.
lol

anything else on fish market, refer to my december posts, i lazy to take the same pics..

stomach full, we took a short walk to paddy's market, again a place i went b4 so i lazy to take more pics (lol).

see the rainbow? so cowerfoo......

We had coffee upstairs (i had camomile tea! soothing....) after walking in paddy's for a while before heading home to change for dinner..

i look like i'm hanging from tim's shoulder, or dislocated mine.. and some1's in a really awkward half-squat position haha!

and now, some pics of every1 before dinner... what a great looking bunch of us. =)

stupid red eye thingy, i need to get rid of that 1 day

makan makan time!
we went to a food court at chinatown, me anthony n tim ate zi char! mmmmmm...... lemon chicken, tofu n vege, mongolian beef n onions, and this pork rib thingy with black bean like the ones eaten at dimsum.. with rice and soup, the dinner only costed the 3 of us 10 bucks each. nice.........

oh well, here's the rest with their food..

the meal came with a free flow or rice and soup, so my and anthony shared another bowl of rice, whereas tim wanted another bowl for himself. after 2 mouthfuls, the fella was alrd full, and proceeded to dump rice all over jay's, carrie's and lim yiew's empty bowls to divert the cleaner's wrath of not finishing food.
hurhurhur...

sorry ah, by the time the rest got back with their food, we were too busy eating to take foto..

burp.

after an extremely filling dinner, we decided to head to darling harbour.
along the way, we passed by some fountains and the monkeys decided to pose for some pics..

see the pwetty pwetty lights behind us? and no rain to ruin the night!

all drenched from the darn rain again

and finally! we reached a club which let us all in.. carrie didnt have her id with her, so lim yiew lent her her driver's license while using her passport for herself and altho maybe can smoke the bouncer, he didnt check at all, so he let us all in. whee!
the loud music and flashing lights were kinda overwhelming at first, but a beer sponsored by anthony dulled my senses a lil so it wasnt that bad..
caution, photos of questionable nature ahead, feel free to laugh/cry at the wonders of human mind and body coordination.

tim was doing the monkey walk thingy behind a trance-like anthony but only succeeded in looking like a masturbating drunk behind the fella

all together now, awwwww....................

after a rowdy night, we headed back to our bunk.. and apparently some of us were still hyper..

but soon enough, we succumbed to Sandman's call and headed off to lala land..

day 4: (Dim sum, Blackjack and Homecooked food)

awoke to a hungry stomach. fortunately, lim yiew bought fruits the day b4 and offered me a pear. nice, until jay came along and commented on the pear shape. then it didnt look that nice, but i alrd finished mine so heck..
we had a nice dim sum brunch at chinatown, thx to emu and his cuzzie for finding the place for us.. the lunch was simply awesome.. the food was scrumptious, and the company was hilarious. all thanks to anthony on my right and kuan on my left, not to mention jay across the table, i was able to laugh till i teared.

after lunch, we walked our full stomachs off by wandering around the city..

shortly, the group split up, tim met up with his friend, and the girls went shopping.. the guys headed off to walk a bit more before deciding to stop at a macs nearby for coffee and some gambling.. game was blackjack, and the stakes were 10 cents a piece.. we were there pretty long, and we had a total of 60 games, at the very end, me and kuan got 1 dollar in winnings each, and jay lost the most at 2.40.. thats alright, we didnt pay each other for the game at all after that..

we kinda had enough of outside food, so kuan suggested that we cook dinner ourselves that night. fair enuff, so we headed to paddy's (1st so that i can get the jap wooden doll for G, but the whole place was closed so we headed directly to buy the food). the girls went off to shop again, and the guys went straight to the supermarket to get the groceries. we bought codfish steaks, chicken drumsticks, mushroom sauce, scallop sauce, cabbage, carrots, cauliflowers, mushrooms, onions and garlic for our planned feast.

we (the guys) headed home 1st so we'd be able to whip up the meal in time when the girls get back, and went to the kitchen after we changed to more comfy clothes.. emu and anthony had a concussion and napped for while before coming down but that's alright, we were almost done by then.. kuan was marinating his chickens while me jay and tim were slicing and dicing up the veges.. i did the fish, tim and jay did the vege dish.. we managed to find salt for the fish, it was one of the most impt preparation ingredients for the fish and we forgot abt it.. doh.
anyway, after a nice massage of salt and water, the fish was ready for cooking.. butter, garlic and onions went in first, simmered to a nice golden brown before the fish steaks joined in.. a lil flip here, a lil flip there, and the fish was ready in no time..

kuan has the fotos of the dinner! argh...... note to self, need to update this section after i get them.

the group had a talk cock session for a while after dinner at the common room until some others were staring at us for being too loud, so we headed back to the bunks. some mad version of dodgeball/monkeyball/dragonball ensued, with mostly tanvi, tim, emu, anthony and jay tumbling about the floor with a ball flying about..

my poor bed was desecrated and messed up so many times i gave up on tidying it till the whole thing finished, which by then was another talk cock session involving a continue-the-story game, somewhere along the lines of a fella called Mach and a gal called Gillette and poor Anthony who got dragged into it. oh well, no reason to ignore him now that he's in the story, and my contributions did crack up the crowd rather well i suppose, with the defective sperm reincarnation and all that. lol

we still had the energy to take the cars out to the sydney harbour bridge and opera house for photos, and though it was at a different place compared to the last time i was here, the location for the photos was still nice and we took some really really good pictures..

here you go!

kuan wanted me to follow suit, but i simply couldn't help but spoil the picture by doing this instead.

we were dead tired after we got back, so tired until me and kuan forogt to bring our towels to the showers and we had to wait for jay to go back and get them for us before we could get out.. and by the time we got back, almost everyone had knocked out by then..

*Ahem*operationairstrike*Ahem*

day 5: (No time! No time!)

as emu said, the last days are always the busiest days. we got up and headed for a quick monorail tour, followed by lunch at a foodcourt.

me and anthony had nandos, steak burgers of course, and terribly nice to eat of course, but still messy and troublesome to eat of course.
after every1 bought some makan to dapao for the trip back to bris, we went for more sightseeing(guys + tanvi) and shopping(girls + jay) before we left sydney..

indeed.

we found our way to this park where this magnificent fountain sculpture was situated.

Thesues and the Minotaur

Orpheus and his lyre

next stop was bondi beach!

tsk, so sweet loh, cannot stand. everybody together now, awww..........

after that, we had coffee (camomile tea for me again) and dessert at a cafe nearby, before finally heading off on out car trip back to brisbane.. whee....
long, sleepy, energy-draining car ride..

Last day: (Bryon Bay)

The last stop before home was byron bay, where we could all take more nice nice pictures before saying our goodbyes...

oi.... guys, look here......

last group pic of the wonderful girls who accompanied us undeserving guys on the trip

And our last group photos for the trip...

and then, finally, we were truly on our way home.. that was the last i saw of the other car, they dropped everyone off too before going back to jay's house. for us, we dropped tim off first, then they dropped me off at unilodge..
AND i FORGOT to take the present for G. kns... had to call them to ask them to hold on for me till the foto exchange day. ah well, 1 more reason to look forward to the foto exchange day anyway =)

the trip ended so quick! noooooo.....................
